When you visit a Cuban bar or restaurant that has a drink menu, it is difficult not to find the mojito among your options, as it is one of the most famous cocktails in the world and on the island.

Some legends say that it was created by the African slaves brought to Cuba who worked sugarcane. It is also said that the corsair Sir Francis Drake, was the one who created the first version of this drink, which consisted of a mixture of low quality liquor, sugar, lemon and mint.

This drink was pupolarized in La Bodeguita del Medio, Havana bar located in the heart of the colonial zone, which has always been visited by national and international tourists.

What is certain is that despite being a century-old recipe and that sometimes suffers from small variations in its ingredients or in its way of elaboration, this drink is still requested and enjoyed by many today.
